PROJECTOR LAMPS

QUICKEST . SIMPLEST . CHEAPEST

I’m calling from a school, can I be invoiced?

Yes, just ring, fax or email your order through and we will send out the lamp for next day delivery. Any problems and we will contact you.

How long does delivery take?

We aim to send 98% of all lamps out for next working day delivery on orders received before 4pm. If your lamp is one of the 2% we are unable to source we will let you know and allow you to cancel the order (with a full refund) immediately if the expeted delivery date is not acceptable.

How long is the lamp warranty?

This varies with each manufacturer but is generally between 30 and 90 days. Failure within this time will mean the lamp will be replaced under warranty. Please note that the warranty begins from invoice date regardless of whether the lamp has actually been opened/used or not.

How do I know if I need a new lamp?

  1. Often the projector will begin to dim and you will remember it being brighter. This indicates that the lamp is reaching its lamp life. Check the hours it’s been used on the projector’s menu and if this is over a 1000 hours it could well indicate a new lamp is required – especially if the projector has not been regularly cleaned in line with manufacturers guidance.
  2. The lamp light indicator (often red rather than the normal green colour) on the projector will come on.

I have changed the lamp but the ‘lamp hours’ warning box still appears. Does this mean the lamp or projector are faulty?

No, probably not. Refer to the projectors handbook to learn how to physically reset the lamp hours as this can often be complicated and requires a combination of button presses.

Should I recycle my lamp?

Projector lamps can be hazardous products and should be treated with care. The glass bulbs are all pressurised to extreme levels and, whilst all the lamps sold in the EU should conform to RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive 2002/95/EC, many contain levels of hazardous chemicals such as mercury, Lead, Cadmium etc.

In the interests of the environment, PLRD has been established to ensure that lamp modules are safely disassembled and the various elements are recycled or disposed of as appropriate.

The PLRD service will ensure adherence to the new WEEE initiative (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment - Directive 2002/96/E), designed to minimize the amount of electrical and electronic equipment ending up in landfill sites. Under this new directive, any electrical or electronic item (including all projector lamps) marked with a label depicting a wheelie bin with a cross over it will require special disposal methods and should not be mixed with other rubbish.
